Some Sunshine in the PNW!
Summer 2024
For our first summer together, the projectUmbrella Seattle team was pleased to distribute 24 care packages to our houseless neighbors in the University District Area. This particular event was special as we met a big group of friends and we were able to hear each unique story over a Jack In The Box meal. We had so much fun connecting with our newfound friends and we hope to see them again soon! Keeping Warm!
Winter 2024
After a cold holiday season, the projectUmbrella Seattle team had the pleasure of distributing 30 care packages to our houseless neighbors throughout the Greater Seattle area. This particular event focused around the Capitol Hill area where the houseless epidemic has drastically increased. We were able to meet so many incredible individuals and hear their stories of strength and courage. Spreading Holiday Joy!
Fall 2023
For this holiday season's event, the projectUmbrella Seattle team had the privilege of distributing 24 care packages to our houseless neighbors throughout the Greater Seattle area. As our team has greatly expanded over the past few years, we were able to expand our regional radius, connecting with many more new neighbors. Each person we met dearly touched our hearts with their remarkable resilience and inspiring life stories. Meeting a New Neighborhood!
Spring 2023
For this Spring's event, after finding much success working with SHARE/WHEEL's Tent City the first time around, the projectUmbrella Seattle team was able to put together over 250 peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, 50 pounds of bananas, and water bottles for our houseless neighbors in the Greater Seattle Area. We had the privilege of getting to know more about our Tent City neighbors and hearing more about their unique experiences while part of the self-governing initiative. Thanksgiving: The projectUmbrella Way!
Fall 2022
For this Fall’s event, the projectUmbrella Seattle team wanted to recognize our houseless neighbors who may not be able to have a meal during the holidays. In light of the season of giving, our team delivered over 400 handcrafted PB&J sandwiches and water bottles along with our seasonal care packages to the tent city organization near the University of Washington. We hope that we were able to make a positive impact and inspire others to spread the joy of giving. Further Connecting with our Homeless Community
Winter 2022
This Winter, we plan to hand our bags to our homeless neighbors for the third time since expanding projectUmbrella to Seattle! We intend to spark more meaningful conversations in order to feel with our homeless community on a deeper level. Since our last event, we have been able to expand our regional radius, giving us the ability to positively impact more peoples' lives. Our team was able to adjust and strictly follow the updated CDC recommended guidelines in order to assure everyone’s safety. All members and volunteers have been completely vaccinated and boosted. We have also included items such as hand sanitizer and KN95 masks within our bags to continue to promote COVID-19 safety precautions.
