During our May distribution, we had the chance to meet Robbie—a soft-spoken man with a thoughtful gaze and a story that quietly carried the weight of years. Robbie has been experiencing houselessness for some time, the result of a string of financial hardships that led to him losing both his job and his apartment. With no remaining ties in Arizona and a fractured relationship with family back in Texas, Robbie has been navigating survival alone.
He shared that although both of his parents are still alive and live just a few states away, he hasn’t spoken to them in over nine years. The distance isn’t just geographical—it’s emotional, built on years of pain and unspoken words. Despite the weight of estrangement, there was no bitterness in Robbie’s voice. Instead, there was a quiet resilience—a desire to one day find closure and healing, even if from afar.
What stood out most about Robbie was his openness. He leaned into conversation with sincerity and grace. He told us how he’s been trying to piece things back together—looking for stable work, staying in temporary shelters, and trying to keep hope alive despite the odds.
Robbie's story is one of endurance and the human need for connection—something many of us take for granted. We’re honored to have met him and grateful for the chance to share in a small piece of his journey.

We wish Robbie healing, peace, and the chance to rebuild on his own terms.
